Sea of Clouds Risk vs reward. It’s a delicious proposition for people. Take what you have or risk it for the potential of something great. It’s the real genius behind Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Seeing someone risk it all. Success or failure is equally exciting, well for the onlookers anyway. Sea of Clouds whole gameplay is based on this simple concept with a few genius tweaks. Each player will be trying to collect the right combination of pirates, rum, bounty and treasures to score the win. To do so they must play with the odds. Three cards are laid out facedown, they are colour coded by their backs so you know yellow is going to be rum, red pirates and so on. Some are set collection for gold rewards, others give you rule bending powers. Pirates are slightly different in that at certain points during the game you will attack the players to your left and right comparing the strength of your pirates with their pirates. At the start of the game three cards are laid out face down. The first player will look at the card in the first column and decide whether or not they want to take it. If they do they add it to their tableau and take any relevant actions. If they decide to press on, they return that card and add another to it face down. Before taking the next card and doing the same. If they want none of the cards in the display they may take the top card from the deck. The next player will get to look at all the cards in a column and take or leave them all. Once there are three cards in a column you add coins instead of cards with the person who takes the cards getting the coins as well. The game ends after a preset number of rounds and the player with the most combined coins from cards and actual coins wins. The games push your luck elements are easy to understand and work well for gamers of all ages.
